Bunbury Magazine: ★★★★★
Right from the off this sublime linguist practices her art without hesitation, barely letting the audience catch their breath, let alone herself. When you see this show and see it you must, it is astounding to think that this is a spoken word show, gloves off, books down.
The way this astounding tale is put together is fascinating and enveloping and reflects the voice of the performer. It is difficult not to be completely hypnotised by the characters explored and the genuine heart-felt emotion endured. Every scene is set with perfect pacing and freshness, shot through with the ideal balance of comedy. It is impossible not to feel the warmth of the LA son and the claustrophobic grasp of other parts of the experience. They say when writing to write what you know and she leaves her audience thirsty for her knowledge.
This eccentric, beguiling woman is one of the great word smiths of our time and is also a true artist through and through and lights up the room with her beautiful personality.
We’ve ticked her off our bucket list.
